‘Dastak’ knocks at society’s door for social change

Director Harsiddhi Mody and writer Vishal Bhardawaj’s ‘Dastak’ (Hindi) with a Haryanvi flavour was staged in Melbourne’s Clayton Theatrette, Melbourne, on 11 April, 2026.

It is a poignant story of love, sacrifice, and deep emotional conflict. Set against the rustic backdrop of Haryana, the play explores complex family dynamics and unspoken truths. Rich in atmosphere and intensity, the narrative unfolds with quiet power and haunting realism. Dastak is a chilling theatrical experience that will stay with you long after the final knock. The urge for social change is what Dastak is all about.

Above are video snapshots of the play from – SAT YouTube Ch – @satimesSAtT- and the writer and director’s soundbites in Hindi. The review in English and Hindi will soon appear at – www.southasiatimes.com.au
