Paul Keating slams ‘AUKUS’ n-subs pact as ‘worst deal’

Paul Keating joined Laura Tingle today in conversation from the ABC studios in Ultimo. Journalists, corporate partners, members, and guests asked questions from Mr Keating from the National Press Club of Australia in Canberra.

– Paul Keating called the AUKUS n- submarine deal as the ‘worst deal in all history’ by a Labor government since conscription.

– “China has not threatened us,” he said.

– Paul Keating: “There is no mandate inside the Australian Labour Party for what Anthony Albanese, Penny Wong and Richard Miles are doing with AUKUS… no mandate” “Once Labor branch members get wind of this properly, there will be problems”

The AUKUS deal will see Australia spend around $368 billion to acquire the n-submarines.
