MELBOURNE,26 March: People of non-English backgrounds in Australia can now easily access COVID-19 updates in their own languages by accessing the newly launched SBS Multilingual Coronavirus Portal from today.
The dedicated multilingual online information portal is “…in response to the growing need for communities to have access to accurate and trusted news and information, in their languages,” says a media release emailed to SAT.
SBS’s COVID-19 portal at www.sbs.com.au/coronavirus allows people to easily access the latest news and resources across 63 languages, in one place, and it will continue to grow as SBS continues its extensive coverage of unfolding events and developments over the coming weeks and months.
The 63 languages SBS COVID-19 portal includes South Asian languages, namely, Bangla, Nepali, Urdu, Hindi, Malayalam, Gujarati, Punjabi, and Tamil.
The portal complements and curates information from SBS’s existing dedicated services delivered on radio, mobile app and online.
