MELBOURNE, 26 January 2022: A new technology to recover copper or other metals from used cables has been developed. Now cables need not be burned for metal recovery which causes pollution from toxins. The new design solution developed by Dr. Md. Yaseen, technical developer Telangana and partner Dr. Mudasar Pasha, has been patented. The cable splitting and recycling machine is successful with high-volume e-waste (cables or wires).
This new waste cable/ wire recycling equipment is a machine that can split and sort used cables to separate metal and plastic. Such a recycling process recovers valuable materials from old electronics that can be used to make new products. Such recycling also saves space in landfills and prevents environmental pollution caused by toxins. There were an estimated 6.5 million deaths worldwide from air pollution-related diseases in 2012, as per WHO data.

Global Campaigner and founder of the Global Council for Environment and Health, Australia (Global CEH), Manoj Kumar says we are proud of our team member Dr. Mohammed Yaseen for his patented design of a Cable Splitting and Recycling Machine. Global CEH is the 1st global organization to submit a petition to WHO to notify prescribed limit for dangerous extreme fine particulate PM1.0 to save lives of millions globally each year. The petition was submitted under the CATS (Clean Air To Survive) campaign of Global CEH.
