Global CEH initiates ‘Student Environment Talk’ in Bihar schools

MELBOURNE, 26 December 2022: The Global Council for Environment and Health Inc. (GlobalCEH), an organisation consisting of a team of passionate and dynamic academicians, researchers and social workers working for the cause of environment protection and prevention of environmental related health problems launched a campaign called “CATS (Clean Air to Survive) in 2021. Global CEH  had then  submitted a petition to the WHO in 2021 to prescribe limits on extreme fine dangerous particle (PM1) to save millions of lives of globally.

The GlobalCEH has now taken a new initiative to promote environmental impact awareness school students through the “Student Environment Talk” campaign in India. These students can raise awareness in their own family and local communities to protect themselves from common environmental pollutants impacting everyday life.

Recently, the global campaigner of GlobalCEH Manoj Kumar visited two village schools in Bhatauna and Marwan in Bihar, India for the Student Environment Talk (Chhatra Paryavaran Samvad) and an enriching discussion with the students on the importance of environmental awareness and the role of students as future ambassadors to keep the local environment clean and healthy.

The initiative engaged students, teachers, principals, parent’s groups and local authorities to promote awareness for local environmental impacts and work to reduce it. Manoj Kumar also  planted a tree at the Bhatauna High School as the mark of a new beginning this environmental awareness campaign.

This initiative attracted community attention and demands to visit more schools for such “Student Environment Talk” program.

The GlobalCEH has now decided to continue the initiative to cover more schools for such campaigns aimed to cut environmental impacts and thus help save lives.

Those who  helped organise and participated in the event were Shashi Bhushan Prasad Singh (Ex. Principal of inter School and village dignitary ), Anil Kumar ( school committee member and village dignitary), Principals and teachers of both the schools.
