Indian undergraduate scholarships for Diaspora children

MELBOURNE, 4 November 2022: The Indian Government has announced scholarships for the Indian Diaspora children for undergraduate courses in India for the year 2022-2023. The scholarships, for many courses, can be accessed by NRIs/PIOs/OCIs across the globe. The scheme is open to two categories of applicants in the age group of 17 to 21 years as on July 31, 2022. The minimum qualification is class 11 or 12 years as on July 31, 2022.

The institutions covered are IITs, NITs, and schools of planning and architecture. The amount of scholarship admissible would be 75% of the total Institutional Economic Cost (IEC) subject to a maximum of US$ 4,000/- per annum. IEC includes Tuition fees, Hostel fees & other institutional charges (Food charges are excluded). The last date for submission of filled-up application forms is November 30, 2022.

The total number of seats for which scholarships will be given is 150 and seats are reserved for boys and girls. Out of these 100 seats are for children of NRIs/PIOs/OCIs and 50 for the children of Indian workers in Emigration Check Required (ECR) countries.
