NEW DELHI, 28 July, 2026: India’s main three Left parties have welcomed the success of the Gen. Z student-youth movement and demanded an end to witch-hunt against student activists.
Leaders of the CPI, CPI(M) and CPI(ML) Liberation met today at the CPI-ML HQ, Charu Bhawan in New Delhi to discuss the current political situation and strengthen Left coordination.
The meeting was attended by CPI General Secretary D. Raja, CPI National Secretariat members Rama Krushna Panda and Dr. Girish; CPI(M) General Secretary M.A. Baby and PB Member Arun Kumar; and CPI(ML) Liberation General Secretary Dipankar Bhattacharya along with Ravi Rai, Sanjay Sharma, Sucheta De, Shweta Raj and Prabhat Chaudhary from the CPI(ML).
The three parties welcomed the historic victory of the student-youth movement that compelled the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan and called for an end to the witch-hunt against student activists.
They also agreed to develop closer cooperation on the trade union, farmers’, agricultural labourers’ and women’s fronts, while intensifying joint struggles to defend people’s interests, resist the Sangh-BJP offensive, and press for economic relief and the immediate implementation of 33% reservation for women in the Lok Sabha and State Assemblies
