Shashi Tharoor speaks on Australia ties, Palestine and Afghanistan

 

MELBOURNE, 15 February, 2025: Indian National Congress leader and MP, Shashi Tharoor was here for the last two days and attended many engagements.  SAT was present at the meet-greet organised today by the Indian Overseas Congress, and talked to him on India-Australia relations and other pressing issues including the Palestine, and India-Afghanistan diplomatic upgrade after the Afghan Foreign Minister’s recent India visit.

Shashi said he was excited about the consolidating India-Australia relations and discussions with Australian officials revealed they were eager to have more Indian students, businesses, and IT professionals here.

About Palestine, he said, India was for a independent Palestine, side by side Israel.

On the upgrading of the Indian mission in Kabul, Mr. Tharoor said, India needs to have relations with its neighbours.
