It is not just tourism, the Sri Lanka Consulate is fully geared up to promote trade, business, projects, investment, exports, imports with Australia as the country is making all efforts to overcome past economic woes, and improve relations in all sectors, the Consul General said.

The focus , of course, is on tourism which the Consulate feels can be done immediately.  Australians talk and visit Bali, Indonesia and Thailand, but Sri Lanka needs proper marketing here to attract visitors, it was felt.

The massive Sri Lankan Diaspora in Australia and Victoria, with many in business projects, is an added benefit, the Consulate is using to showcase Sri Lanka. Daily flights to Sri Lanka give a big push to those interested in doing business with the Island nation.

The Consul General is confident the improved Sri Lanka diplomatic presence and support for businesses from the Consulate will lead to better opportunities in all spheres of Sri Lanka-Australia relations.
