Boxing Day Test 2021 : England bundled out for 185; Australia 65/1 at stumps

MELBOURNE, 26 December 2021: Despite the global omicron scare, 57,100 people today were at the iconic Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG), watching the traditional Boxing Day Test between Australia and England.

The third Vodafone men’s Ashes Test at the MCG today saw England being bundled out for 185 in the first innings. This included England captain Joe Root’s 50 and Jonny Bairstow who made 35 runs in an otherwise dismal performance.

Australian Pace bowler Scott Boland, the second indigenous man to play Test cricket in Australia, debuted at the MCG today.

Australia looks in command with 65 runs for the loss of one wicket. David Warner was out after making 38 runs. Marcus Harris is on 20 and Nathan Lyon is yet to open his account. Australia leads the series 2-1.
