SYDNEY, 1 January 2023: Ahead of the NRMA Insurance Pink Test starting on Wednesday (3 January, 2024) at the Sydney Cricket Ground (SCG), the McGrath Foundation and Cricket Australia (CA) are calling on Australia to unite in pink to help reach the McGrath Foundation’s goal of 250 McGrath Breast Care Nurses this year.
The fundraising target for the 16th Pink Test aims to set a new benchmark through the Virtual Pink Seat campaign with an ambitious goal to sell 322,000 Virtual Pink Seats, raising $6.44 million.
Marking the announcement at the SCG, McGrath Foundation Co-Founder & President, Glenn McGrath, was joined by the Australian and Pakistan Men’s Cricket Teams during their final preparations for the Pink Test.
Cricket Australia CEO, Nick Hockley said, “We can’t wait for the NRMA Insurance Pink Test over the coming days.Throughout our long-term partnership with the McGrath Foundation, the Pink Test has evolved into one of Australia’s most iconic sporting events that brings the community together in support of families experiencing breast cancer. ”
McGrath Foundation Co-Founder & President, Glenn McGrath said, “We’re calling on Australians to unite in pink by buying a Virtual Pink Seat this Pink Test,” McGrath continued.
The 16th Pink Test (3rd Test between Australia & Pakistan) will take place from 3-7 January, 2023. Members gates will open on 3rd January at 7.30 am and for the public at 8.30 am. The match will start at 10.30 am.
Australia is 2-0 ahead in the series, winning the 1st and 2nd tests by 360 runs and 79 runs respectively at Perth and Melbourne.
