MELBOURNE, 16 January 2022: Virat Kohli has quit as the Indian Cricket Team’s Test captain, after losing the Test series against South Africa 2-1. The 33-years-old Virat Kohli became Captian in 2014 after M. S. Dohmi stepped down. Kohli announced his decision in a Tweet.

Kohli recently quit as T20 captain and was later sacked as One Day International (ODI) captain by the BCCI.
Reacting to Kohli’s decision Ravi Shastri in a Tweet said, ” Virat, you can go with your head held high. Few have achieved what you have as captain. Definitely India’s most aggressive and successful. Sad day for me personally as this is the team Flag of India we built together”
Former cricketer Wasm Jaffar Tweeted, ” Virat, you can go with your head held high. Few have achieved what you have as captain. Definitely India’s most aggressive and successful. Sad day for me personally as this is the team Flag of India we built together.”
