MELBOURNE, 9 August, 2025: Australia has joined United Kingdom, Germany, Italy and New Zealand, in condemning Israel’s plan to control more Gaza, in a new offensive which the Israel’ cabinet cleared on 8 August, 2025.
The Foreign Ministers of these countries said any plan to annex more of Gaza will be against international law.
The statement posted on Australian Foreign Ministers website, also reiterated support to the two-state solution, so that Palestinians and Israelis can live side by side peacefully.
Meanwhile, a statement from the APAN said ‘The Australia Palestine Advocacy Network (APAN) condemns the Israeli Government’s announcement of its intention to fully occupy Gaza, and demands that the Australian Government take immediate action to prevent this flagrant breach of international law.
Israel’s announcement is a brazen declaration of colonisation, ethnic cleansing and the intention to annex Palestinian land.
The announcement by Israeli Prime MInister Benjamin Netanyahu, already wanted by the International Criminal Court for war crimes in Gaza, confirms what Palestinians, the world’s highest courts and legal and human rights experts have been saying: this is genocide and apartheid”
