Mumbai, 8 August 2020: Anvita Dutt’s song ‘Dil Ki Shikayat’ is a big hit. Basking with her, recently released successful Netflix film Bulbul, we asked her, what was her idea behind the lyrics and content of the song?
She says “The lyrics came from the melody and its mood. Also, Ayaz had given a clear brief on the kind of song he wanted.”
After her back to back success, we quizzed her, how she felt after a successful debut as a director, and later delivering the successful ‘Dil Ki Shikayat’?
She feels, she is blessed. Anvita has been a prominent lyricist for a long time, her repertoire includes Bachna Ae Haseeno, Dostana, Kambakkht Ishq, Student of the Year, Queen, and more. We also asked her if she enjoyed direction more or writing lyrics? and she told us “They are both different and can’t really be compared. I enjoy both.”
Speaking about music producer Ayaz Ismail for his music and singer Mohit Chauhan about the song she says “The song belongs to Ayaz. Since the genesis was the melody. Mohit has always been one of my favorite singers since ‘dooba dooba’. And I love how the song sounds in his voice.”
We asked her about her next project if it is a movie or a song and she says “The next movie is the one I am directing for Clean Slate Filmz. No song lined up as yet. Waiting for the phone to ring.”
We also got a chance to speak to Ayaz and ask him a quick question about his experience and his next projects, he says “the experience with Anvita and Mohit was fantastic. Anvita was amazing to work with, swift, thoughtful, and a smooth process. It took us a while but we finally had the song recorded.
Nonetheless, it was a dream to work for Mohit Chauhan. I have a couple of Bollywood single tracks lined up with various artists. And I have a Tamil song which is coming up next as well. And an English track lined up too. We are working on a special project too where we are launching seasons of music. I want to explore Jazz and music in different languages”
‘Dil Ki Shikayat’ has over 1.3 Million views on youtube, has been put on the Acoustic songs playlist on Spotify.
