MELBOURNE, 5 November 2021: Director Rohit Shetty’s biggest Bollywood potboiler ‘Sooryavanshi’ today released across Australia and worldwide. This is the movie for which producers Shetty and Karan Johar under their banner of Rohit Shetty Picturez and Dharma Productions respectively, in association with Reliance Entertainment and Cape Of Good Films, waited for 20 months to release because of the COVID-19 pandemic.

After Singham (2011), Singham Returns (2014), and Simmba (2018), Sooryavanshi is the fourth installment of Rohit Shetty’s police universe.

Starring Bollywood biggies Akshay Kumar, Ajay Devgan, Ranveer Singh, Anupam Kher, and Katrina Kaif, the Hindi-language (with English sub-titles) action movie is “Mind Blowing Films (MBF) biggest release at 102 locations with more than 107 screens across Australia, ” says Mitu Bhowmick Lange, CEO MBF.

The action-packed 145 minutes movie charts the actions of an anti-terror squad led by Akshay Kumar as chief DCP Veer Sooryavanshi. The supporting staff includes Jackie Shroff, Gulshan Grover, Abhimanyu Singh, Niharica Raizada, Vivan Bhatena, Sikandar Kher, Nikitin Dheer, and Jaaved Jaaferi.

DCP Veer Sooryavanshi, an intelligence police officer, and his anti-terrorism squad find out that a criminal group is planning to attack Mumbai. Now it’s up to him and his team to catch and punish them as soon as they can. Joining him are Inspector Sangram Bhalerao and DCP Bajirao Singham.

The music of the film is composed by Tanishk Bagchi, Lijo George – DJ Chetas, and JAM8 while lyrics are written by Rashmi Virag, Shabbir Ahmed, and Tanishk Bagchi.

The song “Aila Re Aillaa” is a recreation of the song with the same name from the 2010 film Khatta Meetha. The song “Najaa” is a remake of the 2017 Punjabi song of the same name by Pav Dharia. Sukhwinder Singh sings a song named “Jal Rahi Hai”. The song “Tip Tip Barsa Pani” from the film Mohra, was recreated and is sung by Alka Yagnik and Udit Narayan.
