Gaura Travel wins ‘Highly Commended Certificate Award’ at the IABCA

NEW DELHI: Australia’s leading travel agency ‘Gaura Travel’ has won the prestigious ‘Highly Commended Certificate’ Award at the ‘India Australia Business & Community Awards’ held here 13-17 February 2023. The award was accepted by Abhishek Sonthalia, on behalf of the ‘Gaura Travel’.

The ‘Gaura Travel’ have earned a name for themselves during the pandemic. At the onset of the pandemic, Australia shut its borders to the world to fight the deadly COVID-19 virus. No one saw 2020 coming. Panic clenched people as they suddenly found themselves stranded in Australia. Gaura Travels arranged the first flight to India on 22 July 2020 from Sydney. The Gaura Travel team provided incessant support to all those on that flight leading to a seamless journey.

On 19 March, 2021 the mission of repatriating people back to India became stronger, Gaura Travel crossed another benchmark of operating 50 unstoppable charter flights. In collaboration with Singapore Airlines, the 50th charter flight took off on 19 March 2021 from Melbourne Airport carrying 200 people to New Delhi.

The Gaura Travel through their 40 chartered flights flew out 10,000 people to India during the pandemic. People stranded in different Australian cities as the Coronavirus hit the world and Australia faced immense physical and psychological trauma with little or no chance of going back home. It is here the Gaura Travels led by brothers Ashwini and Abhishek came in and performed the feat of 2020, uniting thousands separated across seas by the cruel pandemic. No doubt, the IABCA award is well deserved.

Across a 12-month campaign that outshined on Wednesday 15th February, the IABCA platform brought together 400 key influencers and bi-lateral leaders from across the two nations. Comprising of the IABCA Global Leaders Forum and the Awards Ceremony, this ‘Meeting of Minds’ showcase at India’s capital palace TAJ connected entrepreneurs, innovators, and disruptors from across Australia and India.
