MELBOURNE, 5 October 2021: In an effort to boost trade and business relations between India and Australia, the Australia India Business Council (AIBC) has established a dedicated organization, Australia India Business Enterprise (AIBE) to facilitate business between the two countries. India has recently seen high-level Ministerial visits from Australia and the talk of a Free Trade Agreement by 2022 made headlines.
The move is significant in the light of Australia’s tensions with China and its approach for closer business and other relations with India. The move “to super-energise AIBC and take it to the next level from promotion and engagement to converting deals” with India looks the desired goal.
A media release from the AIBC says:
” Many opportunities have been identified for B2B Engagements through several collaborative webinars and events organised by AIBC in the last year with many organisations and industry partners and experts led by several Industry chapters such as the Agribusiness Chapter, Corporate Chapter, Digital Chapter, Education and Skills Development Chapter, Healthcare Chapter, Make in India Chapter, Infrastructure Chapter, Energy Chapter, Start-ups and Innovation Chapter and Women in Business Chapter.
To effectively focus on such growing opportunities and outcomes, AIBC, with a resilient “back to business” approach has established a dedicated new business Australia India Business Enterprise (AIBE). It is intended that the new business enterprise will generate financial benefits for its members and AIBC as an organisation.
This new enterprise, AIBE, will super-energise AIBC and take it to the next level from promotion and engagement to converting deals. AIBE will be used to manage the deal flow and end to end facilitation of business between India and Australia and improve brand image of both countries, in both countries.”
A Business Enterprise Working Group (BEWG) has been formed to manage the new enterprise. The BEWG members are:
