MELBOURNE, 13 December 2022: As 2022 inches towards its end, year end celebrations are catching up fast. Not to be left out the Australian Indian Community Charitable Trust (AICCT), today evening saw many from the community gathered to say bye bye to 2022. The rather wild rainy weather did not deter the guests including Dr. Sushil Kumar, India’s Consul General here to grace the gathering. A smiling Anuradha Sundramurti, Consular, CA & PIC, Indian Consulate was also present.

Amid exchanging pleasantries and the much needed community gossip, the guests moved to the main hall where they were welcomed and Dr. Sushil Kumar addressed the gathering saying he would work with the community to enhance the Australia-India relations. He praised the Indian Diaspora for their work and urged them to to support Indian international students. He assured all support from the Indian Consulate to the community.

The gathering had people from different parts of India and community activists who are now settled in Melbourne.  Dr. Sushil Kumar’s idea of having a volunteers committee to support the Indian Consulate was welcomed. Others present at the event were Mr. Vasan Srinivasan, Chairperson AICCT, Mr. Suri Soni, President FIAV, Subra Ramachandran among others. Mr. Soni wished a happy new year and thanked people for being at the function. The attendees were later served with a tasty Indian dinner from Karan’s Tandoori Junction.
