Pallavi Singh honoured for promoting Hindi

SYDNEY, 7 January 2024: Learning one’s mother tongue Hindi and then teaching it to others as a volunteer is no mean feat. In November 2023, Pallavi Singh, a second generation migrant (Investigation Analyst by profession) received a recognition from Hon. David Coleman MP ( Local federal MP for Banks, NSW) for her volunteering to teach at the South Asian Hindi School, Kogarah (Sydney).

Pallavi who studied Hindi in her VCE, volunteered for the Hindi School Kogarah, NSW to support students to learn Hindi language and culture. Hindi is the third most-spoken language in the world including first and second language speakers. In growing global social, cultural and economic engagement, language plays a vital role to connect people and promote understanding among different communities.
