MELBOURNE, 3 March 2024 : Australia’s beaches spread all around the country, are its pride and to keeping them clean is essential for keeping the sea water free of pollution. To fulfil this task, the Sant Nirankari Mandal (SNM) volunteers across seven beaches around the country participated in a cleaning operation to free them of all polluting garbage and other stuff.

The beaches covered were the Semaphore Beach (Adelaide), Redcliffe Beach (Brisbane), Lake Burley (Canberra), Aspendale Beach (Melbourne), Hillarys Beach (Perth), Manly Beach (Sydney) and Bluff Beach (Tasmania). In this campaign named Project Amrit, a thousand volunteers walked along the beaches and cleared all garbage and all sorts of pollutants from there.

This initiative by SNM Australia is part of a Global initiative by the Sant Nirankari Mission known as Project Amrit which is an inspiring move towards global environmental stewardship. The term ‘Amrit’ a Hindi term symbolises that water is an elixir for living beings.

Taking inspiration from the slogan ‘Swachh Jal, Swachh Man’ (Clean Water, Clean Mind), Project Amrit’s initial launch saw more than 1.1 million volunteers participate in waterway cleaning programs across 1500 locations in India. Similar waterway conservation campaigns have also been organised in 70 countries all over the globe.

The activities under Project Amrit are complemented by the Sant Nirankari Mission’s ongoing commitment to social welfare, including blood donation drives, tree planting, and environmental awareness programs. Each of these welfare programs encourages volunteers to manifest the principle of ‘Think Global, Act Local’.

Meanwhile, this drive for social service stems from the guidance of Her Holiness Satguru Mata Sudiksha Ji Maharaj. Mata Sudiksha Ji has devoted her life to encouraging all humans to lead a life full of spirituality, love, and service to humanity.

Her Holiness Satguru Mata Sudiksha Ji Maharaj, along with her spouse, Nirankari Rajpita Ramit Ji will be embarking on a Spiritual Tour across Australia and New Zealand throughout April 2024. Her Holiness will be visiting 7 cities during her tour, and will be sharing the message of ‘Know One, Be One’.
