SNAPSHOTS – Iftar with Adam and the Greens

MELBOURNE, 16 April 2023: The Fitzroy Town Hall was full of people for the traditional Iftar by Muslims. Adam Bandt and Samantha Ratnam, Greens leaders were around to welcome, network and there was no dearth of photo opportunities. The Greens Iftar meal had people and migrants from many countries from across Melbourne. Many non-Muslims and Greens activists also joined the meal. Iftar, also known as futoor (the Arabic word for breakfast), is a meal held every day during Ramadan at sunset. Fasting is one of the main pillars of Ramadan, and those observing the holiday do not consume any food or drink between sunrise and sunset.
