Rocketry-The Nambi Effect : A space scientist accused in a spy scam

A top Indian space scientist who invents the successful ‘Vikas Engine’, that launched India’s first PSLV, falls from grace after being accused of espionage in a spy scandal. The charges against him are later dismissed by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) in April 1996, and India’s Supreme Court declares him not guilty in 1998. On 26 January 2019, he is conferred with the Padma Bhushan award by the Indian government. It is this rather tragic but exciting story of Nambi Narayanan that is told in this movie.

Rocketry – The Nambi Effect has been shot simultaneously in multiple languages including Hindi, Tamil, and English, with the English version premiering at the prestigious, international film festival. Its theatrical release, scheduled for 1st July, will also feature Telugu, Malayalam and Kannada versions.

R Madhavan plays the role of the eponymous, Indian scientist, Nambi Narayanan, a former ISRO scientist, and an aerospace engineer, and has also directed, produced, and written the film.

The movie is produced by TriColour films, Varghese Moolan Pictures, and 27th Investments. The film is being distributed by UFO Moviez in India, with Red Giants distributing in the South, and distributed internationally by Yash Raj Films and Phars Film Co.
