New and expanded VFS Global outlet soon in Melbourne

MELBOURNE, 18 May 2026: The VFS Global, which manages visa applications  and other consular services for the Consulate of India, Melbourne, and has its current outlet at Suite 4, Level 12, 55 Swanston Street,Melbourne, Victoria 3000, will soon shift to a new and bigger centre at the St. Kilda Road. This was disclosed by India’s Consul General, Melbourne, Mr. Anish Rajan in a media interaction at the Indian Consulate today.

The current VFS Global outlet will shift to a St. Kilda Road (not far from the Indian Consulate) address soon. The new outlet is likely to have about 15 counters to accept applications for various consular services provided by the Indian Consulate and Indian High Commission (Canberra), considerably reducing the waiting period for these services and cutting the rush, Mr Rajan disclosed.

An estimated 370,000 Victorians identify with Indian ancestry, making it the second-largest migrant group in Australia. Around 20 % are said to be Indian nationals and the others have taken Australian citizenship. Those with Australian citizenship and of Indian origin, can obtain a Overseas Citizenship of India (OCI) for which they have to apply at The VFS Global.

The VFS Global outlet in Melbourne looks after Victoria and Tasmania.
