India open for tourism with E-visa & flights reopening from 27 March 2022

MELBOURNE, 17 March 2022: Tourism has been a plus point of the Indian economy for many years. But the pandemic and other reasons saw a setback. The Indian government is now promoting ‘Incredible India’ globally. A function ‘Tourism Promotion 2022’ was held at the Indian Consulate here today with travel agents and many from the community attending.

Speeches about India’s travel potential in the post-pandemic period were explained and the reintroduction of E-visas and normal flights restarting from 27 March were seen as positive signs. The massively big Indian tourism market with diversity of culture, languages, wildlife, adventure, and fun constitutes a global opportunity.

Goa is a popular destination, said one of the speakers. While another explained the subject with stats. Overall, the view was this sector has a big scope and people can now choose India as a tourist destination with confidence.

India’s Consul General Mr. Raj Kumar, Girish Singh Kavia, Consul(Com., Press, Culture, Pol,& Edu.) also spoke at the function. Dr. Santosh Kumar Yadav explained with slides the rising medical tourism including the possibility of Ayurveda tourism.

He explained the Ayur system as being preventive apart from other treatments. He disclosed similar Ayur treatment can also be obtained in Australia with around 200 practitioners around.
